Stetson's Royal Deluxe Open Road is softer and more luxurious than the 6X fur felt version. Ideal for dress and casual use it is made in the USA and has a 4 1/4" (front crease) cattleman crown and a 2 3/4" bound edge. Features include a thin grosgrain ribbon band with Stetson pin, roan leather sweatband and full satin lining.

Fantastic color!
This is my fourth Open Road (and my third from One 2 Mini Ranch), and the color is truly epic. The photos don't do it justice at all. If you are considering an Open Road, the Royal Deluxe is a great place to start. I am a Stetson, Open Road, and One 2 Mini Ranch fan for life!

Open road
Hat is softer that the normal open road hats which is expected and what I was wanting this time. Delivery was quick as usual with the staff at the mini ranch. I like shopping for my hats using them because when you view a hat on their site you are not surprised about the color when you receive it. Their pictures are very true to actual color in person unlike other sites that stick the hats in light boxes and then when you get them your thinking this is not the color I expected. I will be buying more hats from the mini ranch in the future.

I usually wear a 7 3/8 in the 6x open road. However the royal deluxe is softer and I think I might need a 7 1/4.

Great hat
I really like the Royal deluxe version of the Stetson Open Road despite the rather negative feedback they seem to get in some reviews. The softness of the RD felt is a very welcome feature when it comes to comfortable wearability. Now, I love the 6x felt about equally as well, both are exceptional quality. There’s just something about the Royal that prompts the immediate “Ahh” response when you put it on. Well, it does it for me, anyway. If you’re, at all, interested in purchasing one of these beauties, don’t hesitate, I’m sure you’ll love yours too.
